What is the difference in a box base wall vent and an angle base roof vent?
Wall gable vents or roof attic vents?
There is only one difference.
The bottom of the vent.
A box base is squared off just like the other sides of the vent.
For a wall insert, the base being squared, helps assist in the install.
Being able to insert and have the vent brace itself in the opening,
allows for more personal mobility for fastening it to the wall.
It can rest on the bottom frame board with minimal holding or propping with your hand.

Angle base vents are meant for roof installs directly onto the roof.
The roof pitch or angle should be close to allow the roof attic vent to sit.
Provide the vent bottom pitch,
or the roof pitch of the roof line the vent is resting on,
for the best fit.
