The front of the vent is flanged with a 1 1/2 inch nail fin.
The vent itself is the 30 inch by 30 inch measure.
The flange is added.
So, with th flange it is 97 x 29.
This base is boxed (not angled) for setting into a gable wall.
One half of the vent will have an H-bar attached.
This is the half to install first.
The top and bottom of the vent will have alignment tabs.
This makes the install so much easier and quicker.
